Wait...it's Spring?!

I cannot believe that Spring has Sprung!! It was 80+ degrees today!! Wow...I literally cannot wait to see how hot the summer is going to be.

Well Marcus and I went on our first vacation of the year this past weekend. We drove 10 hours to Murfreesboro, TN to see Heidi and Dave get married. Before I get into the wedding, I would just like to say how much I loved this town! It had the country + cleanliness + community + everything else I would love in a place to live. It was so beautiful.

The weekend was great. We got to the hotel on Thursday morning around 8:30AM - we were so tired! I thought by taking a nap after work, the adrenaline would carry us through but OH NO...that was not the case. Once I noticed my eyes shaking back and forth, I knew Marcus had to wake up and drive. It was a smooth drive though. Basically one road the whole time...just really long! Thursday night was a lot of fun. We went to the complimentary happy hour and Heidi's family and friends pretty much took over the lobby area.

So after 3 or 4 scotches (for Marcus) and 3 or 4 vodka tonics (for me) Marcus and I headed to bed because we had to be up at the crack of dawn to help Heidi and Dave set up their venue.

Friday was a very busy day and I know an emotional one for Heidi but it all went so well. Once things were put back into place and we all went to the church for the run-through, it was time for another party!! The rehearsal dinner was amazing! A lot of laughs and tears...mixed with great food and drinks!

Saturday - the day was great! All of the girls got up early to get their hair, make-up, nails and toes done and drank at least 2 bottles of champagne. (Don't worry - we were not drunk!! There were a lot of us!!) Getting ready was probably one of my favorite parts of the day...it was just so nice to see Heidi transform into this beautiful bride. On the way to the church we all started singing "GOING TO THE CHAPEL AND WE'RE GONNA GET MARRIED..." It was a moment I'll never forget!! Unfortunately, my camera was not taken inside the church (MARCUS...) so I wasn't able to get any pictures but it was perfect.

The reception was fantastic!! The food was delicious...the music and dancing was great and I cannot tell you one person that did not have a good time! The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. It did rain but it did not damper anyone's spirits!

The weekend was a blast! I am exhausted and have been sleeping a lot but it was all worth it! Congratulations again Heidi and Dave Hargis!!!!!! Thank you for letting us be a part of your wonderful wedding!

Life as we know it right now

I'm sure I don't have many followers on this blog but I do feel bad that I haven't made the time to write about things.

Things are a bit different since the last time I wrote so let me catch you up!!

I no longer work for the Dr's office. I really did not like it. Basically it was not my cup of tea. He is a good Dr and I will go to him whenever I need a check up but I do not EVER want to work in an office like that again.

I am employed by B. F. Saul and working at the Courtyard Marriott in Tysons. I started yesterday.

It was very refreshing to start a new job and not feel like "the new girl". Everyone was so welcoming and would shake my hand and say "WELCOME ABOARD" or "WELCOME TO THE TEAM!" I did a lot of computer training yesterday but I did not mind at all. It was nice to feel like I am a part of something big and know that I have a fantastic future ahead of me.

We also celebrated Marcus' birthday. We went to his parents on the 2nd (his actual birthday) and on the 3rd I took him out to dinner. He really had a great day.

bread pudding

how cute is this!! confetti on the table!
We are going out of town next week for Heidi's wedding. I am so excited!! Talking to Heidi she sounds very calm and excited...not much stress has come from her throughout the process. I know she will be a beautiful bride and it will be a fantastic day!! I went to Indy a couple of weeks ago for her shower. It was a great weekend! We also had a small bachelorette party for her as well.

Well I'm working the late shift today so I have to start getting ready! So excited to go to work!! (I know it's weird right!!!!)
