There are some things that I think should be known...

I have less than 10 more weeks to go in my pregnancy. I am happy to report that it has not been a bad experience BUT there are things that I never knew would happen.

For instance:

I am the Scarecrow!

Okay, I know that "pregnancy brain" isn't 100% true but hear me out! I have been forgetting things a lot. I will literally stop talking in the middle of my sentence because I have no idea what I was just talking about .02 seconds ago!

I cannot believe you just said that!!

I have started to avoid people - and if you know me at all, that is not me!! I cannot take it though! How is this a nice thing to say to someone?
  • WOW! You look swollen!!!
  • HEY! You're getting huge!
  • Gees, how much longer do you have, you look miserable.
  • Someone looks big!! How far along are you?
I know I'm getting bigger I HAVE A BABY INSIDE ME WHO IS GROWING! Why is that something you would want to greet me with! How about "Hello!"

STTTRRREEEEEEETCH MARKS.

Now when you get pregnant, if you didn't know, there are some cases where you will get stretch marks because your stomach is growing. It happens! But you wouldn't know that unless I am walking around with no shirt on!! Also I have heard you could get stretch marks by just scratching your belly - I'm assuming the scratching is the growing but I'm not a doctor!! Well if something itches, I will scratch! You do not have to deal with the stretch marks...I do...so how about you back off a bit and go on with your perfect non scratch mark body!! I don't need the comments! :)

Forget losing sleep when he/she comes...you're losing it now.

I don't know if it's the body getting you ready or what but I barely sleep through the night. It is because of many different circumstances though.
  • I have to go to the bathroom. It's like clock work!! Between 2:30am and 3:15am I am getting up to go.
  • I am a "tosser". I enjoy rolling over in the middle of the night to find that cold part of the pillow again. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!! I will have to do a 3 point turn just to roll over. My stomach is heavy and there is no smooth movement!
  • Back/leg pain. It doesn't matter what time it is, if you get this pain, you are better off just getting up. There is no good position for you! If you lay, it hurts. If you sit up, something else hurts.
  • There will never be enough space in any bed in the world.
Does anyone have a tissue?

The tears sure can flow!! There have been times that I would just look at Marcus and make that ugly cry face and would just chuckle and come and hug me! Every time I have cried, I look back at the situation and think of how ridiculous it is but when I'm in that moment, forget it...there is no stopping the tears!

Now some things have been fantastic!

Wait...was I supposed to get morning sickness?

I might have thrown up one time and I honestly think it was because of the food I ate! I don't really remember being nauseous either which was really nice!

A husband's love!

Marcus has been a dream! He will talk to my stomach/the baby, he will randomly rub my hands or back, get me a glass of water, open doors...etc. Now don't get me wrong, he has always been a fantastic husband but the little extras that he has been offering have been great!

Oh...I'm having seconds!

Whomever starting the "you're eating for two" is right but also wrong. Yes, I have a human inside that will eat - but not an enitre slice of pizza!! The baby will really only take molecules from the food we eat so yes, seconds/thirds might not be for the baby but it is nice not to be judged!!

He likes to move it...move it...

This little "secret" between a Mom and her unborn child is amazing. I love to feel him move around. At first, it was a bit "alien like" but now, I can almost predict when he will move. And the game he plays with Marcus is hilarious. It's like he knows when he puts his hands on my stomach - he just stops!

So even though I complain about some things, the good definetly out weighs the bad. There are days that I cannot wait for April to come but at the same time, I would love to keep him for myself!

New Years Resolutions

From Duncan (the dog):

1. I will (try) not to eat all of your socks

2. I will work on my bark: I know sometimes it scares you or ruins the best part of your show.

3. When your on the phone, I will not (again try not) get needy and all in your face. Or even get in between your arm to get the phone away from your ear.

4. I will learn to sit. As long as you give me treats! Give and take!!!! More give though.

5. I will not hump Opa's arm when he comes to visit again. I understand that it is very rude.

6. I will love you both all the time!! Especially when I get more treats!!

update..

Well hello there! I haven't really written much lately because I don't have much time do to...well anything!! I figured you all deserved an update!!

  • I turned 28. I have been waiting for this age for...well 28 years!! As a kid, when I would play "house" I would always say I was 28 (my name was Suzanne Sommers and I was married to Johnny from Dirty Dancing!!). I really think this is going to be my year too. It has already started out so great that I can tell things will get better from here.
  • I recently got a promotion!! Currently, I work at the front desk at the Couryard in Tysons. From the beginning I wanted to get into Sales. I think I would be great for the job and it is really something I am interested in. Well, I got in!! I am now a Sales Coordinator. Which basically means, I am the admin for the sales department.
  • I found out my parents were moving. Originally they were supposed to move to Virginia and I had so many emotions I couldn't even think of putting it all into words. I knew something was up when things weren't going as they should...and then it happened....they told me they were staying in Florida. I am honestly bummed. I know that it is what they need to do and where they need to stay but I would have loved to be able to go to their house - any time I wanted. BUT on the good side of things, it is a place for me to visit and for cheap!! They are coming to VA for Christmas so I am very excited about that. And they are coming for 2 whole weeks!!!
  • Marcus and I celebrated out 3 year anniversary in September. We went to Vero Beach, Florida and had the most amazing time!! We went with my mom, dad, Rich, Jen and baby Calvin! We rented a cottage right on the beach which was amazing! It was just such a relaxing vacation and we haven't had one of those since our honeymoon!

  • I have lost some weight!! I do not eat red meat anymore! I know, I know...its crazy! But it has really worked for me. I will occasionally eat chicken (mainly for the protein) but that's really it. I have tried more things since I started this diet than I ever thought I would. And I don't think I have had anything I didn't like. The problem that I am facing now though...I'll eat pizza (just cheese or veggie), I'll have cheese quesadilla from Taco Bell and other bad things! I am just simply lazy!! It is just so much easier to run to Taco Bell or get delivery...ugh. It is always a struggle. But, things are going to change! You heard it here first! :)

So that's just a quick update on some things that are happening in my life right now!! I miss writing on here so I will do my best at doing it more.

Take it easy!

Wait...it's Spring?!

I cannot believe that Spring has Sprung!! It was 80+ degrees today!! Wow...I literally cannot wait to see how hot the summer is going to be.

Well Marcus and I went on our first vacation of the year this past weekend. We drove 10 hours to Murfreesboro, TN to see Heidi and Dave get married. Before I get into the wedding, I would just like to say how much I loved this town! It had the country + cleanliness + community + everything else I would love in a place to live. It was so beautiful.

The weekend was great. We got to the hotel on Thursday morning around 8:30AM - we were so tired! I thought by taking a nap after work, the adrenaline would carry us through but OH NO...that was not the case. Once I noticed my eyes shaking back and forth, I knew Marcus had to wake up and drive. It was a smooth drive though. Basically one road the whole time...just really long! Thursday night was a lot of fun. We went to the complimentary happy hour and Heidi's family and friends pretty much took over the lobby area.

So after 3 or 4 scotches (for Marcus) and 3 or 4 vodka tonics (for me) Marcus and I headed to bed because we had to be up at the crack of dawn to help Heidi and Dave set up their venue.

Friday was a very busy day and I know an emotional one for Heidi but it all went so well. Once things were put back into place and we all went to the church for the run-through, it was time for another party!! The rehearsal dinner was amazing! A lot of laughs and tears...mixed with great food and drinks!

Saturday - the day was great! All of the girls got up early to get their hair, make-up, nails and toes done and drank at least 2 bottles of champagne. (Don't worry - we were not drunk!! There were a lot of us!!) Getting ready was probably one of my favorite parts of the day...it was just so nice to see Heidi transform into this beautiful bride. On the way to the church we all started singing "GOING TO THE CHAPEL AND WE'RE GONNA GET MARRIED..." It was a moment I'll never forget!! Unfortunately, my camera was not taken inside the church (MARCUS...) so I wasn't able to get any pictures but it was perfect.

The reception was fantastic!! The food was delicious...the music and dancing was great and I cannot tell you one person that did not have a good time! The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. It did rain but it did not damper anyone's spirits!

The weekend was a blast! I am exhausted and have been sleeping a lot but it was all worth it! Congratulations again Heidi and Dave Hargis!!!!!! Thank you for letting us be a part of your wonderful wedding!
