Happy V-Day!

February 14Th. Everyone knows it is the day you get your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, partner, or the love of your life...something special to let them know that you love them. Marcus and I do not celebrate this day. Why do you need a special day to say "I love you"? Why can't you just do it on a random Wednesday or Sunday? Don't get me wrong, I love to hear the special stories from my girl-friends about how wonderful their day is/was. It is just not for me.

Last year it was our first Valentine's Day and we both knew that we were not going to celebrate. We went to his apartment, watched movies...I ate cereal and he had chicken salad on crackers for dinner. I might not have been the "normal" V-day but it was still memorable.

Love is not money...love is thoughtfulness.

Make love spontaneous...not expected.

Anyway...Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Wedding Bands

So Marcus and I were both off yesterday. We ended up going to Springfield Mall and we looked at some wedding bands. Honestly, I think looking at jewlery is always a good time but to see Marcus trying on some bands was even better! I am almost positive he liked doing it too.

Heidi is coming soon. I am so excited to actually get some other things done. Bridesmaid dresses, save-the-dates, showing her where we are getting married and my wedding dress. Heidi is my maid-of-honor but living so far away it is hard for me and her to get things done. She has been so good with the planning of all of this though. She calls me on a regular just asking what she can do. I just wish she would move here until I'm married, things might go a bit smoother! (We have some extra rooms!!)

7 months to go

For those of you that don't know, Marcus and I are getting married September 12 of this year. We couldn't be more excited! The planning is going really well. I feel like I am ahead of the game which is always better than being behind. We have the location, photographer, food, my dress (which is most important!!), wedding party and guest list. We do have a couple of the little things in order too but those are surprises!!
There has been a couple of bumps in the road of course. Picking a color was probably the hardest decision to make. Marcus and I would get some of those paint swatches from Lowes and cut them up and choose which colors go together the best. We still couldn't do it!! I finally found colors I liked by shopping in Ikea! The colors are....(drum roll please...) orange and purple. *purple being the accent color* I never thought that picking a color would be so intense but this is something that you will look back on and you don't want to regret it in the long run.
Tons more planning to do but we have a good "team" behind us to make sure this is exactly what we want!
